This collection contains captures that have been manipulated to achieve a colorful artistic effect. The multicolored and textured areas call attention to themselves as component parts of the whole, which are normally blended into one another in the Maine woods. Most of the time, nature is very overwhelming. It moves you emotionally, and a camera snapshot just does not do the experience of the place any justice. There's so much out there that the artist has to choose what to emphasize in order to evoke an emotional response based on the artist's experience and skill to translate into pictorial art. This of course, is a cheap substitute for actually being there, but freezing time and space beautifully on a two or three dimensional space is a wonder in itself. I give thanks to God for the ability to appreciate his workmanship, even in it's fallen state, where " the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now". The quote is taken from The New Testament in the book of Romans chapter 8 verse 22.
