The artist, George Ramos, received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cornell University in 1979, and served honorably in the US Navy from 1980-2000. As a student, and later as sailor, he collaterally served as a fine artist, illustrator, art director, designer, public art muralist, and teacher.
